Still Patient?

Germany · Headliner

German gothic rock veterans formed in 1988, with early albums Salamand (1992) and Cataclysm (1994) helping establish them in the German 1990s goth scene. They reformed in 2012 and had released Zeitgeist Weltschmerz in 2018.

Still Patient? were our first ever CorrosionFest headliners, and a particularly personal booking for me. They were the first overseas goth rock band from the 1990s that Mike really got into, so having them headline our first festival meant a lot.

Formed in Germany in 1988, Still Patient? were part of the second wave of European gothic rock. Their early albums Salamand and Cataclysm established their reputation, and they appeared at festivals including Wave-Gotik-Treffen and the original Sacrosanct Festival in the UK.

Their appearance in Morecambe came at a particularly strange time. They were playing a short UK tour, taking in CorrosionFest, London and Nottingham. Following the Nottingham show, news came through that Germany was closing its borders as the pandemic escalated. Instead of staying overnight as planned, the band faced a mad dash across Europe to get home before the restrictions took effect.

A memorable first headliner, for more reasons than we could ever have anticipated.
